BIG CHUNGUS

Big Chungus, also referred to as Chungus, Fat Bugs Bunny, Chubby Bugs Bunny, or Humungous Chungus, is a 2018 meme character created by meme fans in 2018. He is said to be one of the most powerful characters in fiction according to several sources (all of which are not reliable), and has become an icon since its debut in late 2018.

According to Urban Dictionary, the word "chungus" refers to "a giant, overweight creature that destroys, rabbit-killing gods." The word was coined by video game journalist James "Jim" Sterling. In Big Chungus' case, he started out as a simple intermission frame of Bugs Bunny from the 1941 Looney Tunes animated short, Wabbit Twouble. In this frame, Bugs Bunny imitates Elmer Fudd while mocking his weight, before returning to his original form. However, this short form of Bugs Bunny became very popular, and spawned a new fan base.
